King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard

In September 2016, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard were riding high on the waves of their ambitious and eclectic sound, which had already been established through multiple albums. Just prior to this live recording, they released 'Nonagon Infinity,' a groundbreaking album that became a fan favorite for its continuous nature, flowing seamlessly from one track to the next. Recorded live at Bakehouse Studios in Melbourne, this performance captured their high-energy essence perfectly. Notably, the band was diving deeper into their unique blend of psychedelic rock, jazz, and even microtonal music during this time. This session aired on World Cafe in January 2017, framing their innovative trajectory and building anticipation for their subsequent projects.
