In August 2018, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard performed at Øyafestivalen in Oslo, a vibrant showcase of their eclectic, genre-blurring sound. This performance came right after the release of "Gumboot Soup," which dropped back in December 2017. At that time, the band was riding a wave of creativity, having released five albums in 2017 alone!
