Weezer

In July 1997, when Weezer recorded their live performance of "Across The Sea" at Osaka's Shinsaibashi CLUB QUATTRO, they were riding high on the success of their iconic self-titled debut album, often referred to as the "Blue Album." Released in 1994, this album solidified their place in the rock scene with hits like "Buddy Holly" and "Say It Ain't So." By the time of this performance, Weezer had also released their second album, "Pinkerton," in 1996, which, while initially controversial, has since become a cult favorite, celebrated for its raw emotion and vulnerability. The Osaka gig illustrates their growing international fanbase and marks a pivotal moment in their career, as they transitioned from an emerging band to established artists.
