On September 14, 1997, Neutral Milk Hotel played a pivotal show at the Broad River Outpost in Danielsville, GA, marking their first performance after wrapping up work on their acclaimed album, 'In the Aeroplane Over the Sea.' Released just a few months later in February 1998, this sophomore effort defined the band’s unique sound and lyrical depth, blending lo-fi aesthetics with surreal imagery. The concert was a benefit for the Broad River Action Group (BRAG), showcasing the band's commitment to community and environmental causes.
