Neutral Milk Hotel performs The King of the Carrot Flowers Pt 1 & 2 live at Hollywood Bowl
On September 18, 2014, Neutral Milk Hotel performed live at the Hollywood Bowl, reigniting the magic of their cult classic, "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea," which had been released back in 1998. By this time, the band had enjoyed a significant renaissance, reuniting in 2013 for their first tour in nearly two decades, much to the delight of long-time fans. This live recording not only captures the hauntingly beautiful rendition of "The King of the Carrot Flowers Pt 1 & 2" but also showcases the emotional depth and quirkiness that's made them iconic. While the band initially dissolved after their legendary album, their reappearance brought a sense of nostalgia and excitement. What's more, the Hollywood Bowl's atmosphere, with its historic grandeur, provided the perfect backdrop for their unique sound—a blend of lo-fi indie rock wrapped in poignant storytelling.
