On October 22, 2008, Neutral Milk Hotel performed at The Cinemat in Bloomington, Indiana, as part of the Elephant Six Holiday Surprise Tour. This performance came after the band had released their iconic sophomore album, 'In the Aeroplane Over the Sea,' in 1998.
