In December 2012, when Dinosaur Jr. performed "Little Fury Things" live at WFUV Studio A, the band was enjoying a resurgence in their career, having reunited in 2005 after originally disbanding in 1997. Prior to the live recording, they released the album "I Bet on Sky" in 2012, which marked their third studio album since reuniting. This album was well-received, solidifying their influential presence in the alternative rock scene. "Little Fury Things," originally from their 1988 album "You're Living All Over Me," is a fan favorite that showcases their signature blend of heavy guitar riffs and melodic elements. The live performance highlights the band's ability to engage audiences with their raw energy and nostalgic appeal. Interesting to note, Dinosaur Jr.'s founding guitarist and vocalist, J Mascis, is known for his distinct guitar playing, and this live setting allowed for an intimate display of his talent and the band's dynamic chemistry.
