Pretenders

In May 1983, The Pretenders delivered an electric performance of 'The Adultress' during the US Festival at Glen Helen Regional Park. This show came shortly after the release of their ambitious second album, 'Learning to Crawl,' which hit shelves in early 1984, even though it would be a transitional period for the band. Interestingly, the band faced the tragic loss of their original member, James Honeyman-Scott, in 1982, which profoundly influenced their evolution. While 'The Adultress' showcases the band's ability to intertwine poignant lyrics with energetic rock rhythms, it's also a testament to their resilience and growth during a turbulent time. The festival itself was a massive showcase of iconic bands, but The Pretenders stood out with their unique blend of new wave and punk-inspired sounds, further solidifying their status in the rock landscape.
