This album came after a bit of a hiatus for the band since the release of 'Last of the Independents' in 1994. Notably, '¡Viva El Amor!' marked a return to the studio for the band after a gap in traditional releases, reflecting a shift in the band’s dynamics and sound during the late '90s. With Chrissie Hynde at the helm, her distinct voice and songwriting tackled personal and broader themes, resonating with fans.
