At this point in their career, the band was promoting their latest album, 'Break Up the Concrete', released in 2008. This album marked a return to their roots, showcasing a raw, rock vibe reminiscent of their earlier work. It was a significant moment as it was one of the first times the band had toured with a new lineup following the passing of founding member James Honeyman-Scott. Interestingly, 'Angel of the Morning', originally a hit for Merrilee Rush in 1968, has been covered by many artists, but The Pretenders brought their unique flair to it, evoking a sense of nostalgia and reimagining the classic in a fresh way.
