In the summer of 2004, Santana delivered a mesmerizing performance of 'What's Going On' at the Auditorium Stravinski in Montreux, Switzerland. This occurred right around the release of Santana's album 'All That I Am,' which came out in 2005. 'All That I Am' saw Santana exploring a more contemporary sound and included collaborations with various artists, capturing a blend of genres. Interestingly, during the live recording, he was accompanied by an incredible lineup, including jazz legends like Herbie Hancock and Ravi Coltrane. This performance showcased not only Santana's iconic guitar work but also his ability to fuse different musical influences, promoting a message of peace and unity—very much in line with the original spirit of Marvin Gaye's classic. The Montreux Jazz Festival itself is a legendary venue, known for celebrating the crossroads of music, making this performance even more special.
