Phoebe Bridgers

In April 2013, Phoebe Bridgers performed a haunting cover of Richard Thompson's "Keep Your Distance" at the Echoplex in Los Angeles, during a pivotal time in her early career. At this point, she had just begun to make waves in the music scene, showcasing her deep lyrical talent and emotive style. The recording captures her raw, intimate sound, foreshadowing the critically acclaimed work to come. Bridgers released her debut EP, "Killer," in 2014, not long after this performance, establishing her unique voice in indie folk. An interesting tidbit is that although she was still relatively unknown at this time, her presence and artistry in performances like this hinted at her future success, leading to collaborations with other heavy-hitters in the industry. Her genuine connection with the audience, even back then, suggested the remarkable journey she was about to embark on.
