T. Rex

In January 1971, when T. Rex performed live in Bremen, they were at a pivotal point in their career, transitioning into mainstream success with their glam rock sound. This performance coincided with the release of their critically acclaimed album "Electric Warrior," which would come out later that year. Leading up to this moment, T. Rex had previously released "A Beard of Stars" in 1970, which showcased their evolution from the folk sound of their earlier albums to a more accessible rock style. The band's frontman, Marc Bolan, was gaining immense popularity and was frequently recognized as a key figure in the glam rock movement. Interestingly, the performance captured in the video features "Jewel," a track that reflects the band's lyrical and melodic style during this transformative period. Bolan's confident stage presence and distinct aesthetic would go on to influence countless artists in the years that followed.
