T. Rex

On June 27, 1969, T. Rex, at that time still known as Tyrannosaurus Rex, performed "Salamanda Palaganda" in Paris, marking a significant moment in the band's early career. This live recording took place shortly after the release of their third album, "Prophets Seers & Saviors," which debuted earlier that year. The performance showcases the duo's signature psychedelic sound, driven by Marc Bolan's unique vocal style and the experimental instrumentation characteristic of their work. Interestingly, this period also marked a transition for T. Rex, as they were evolving from their folk roots towards a more electric and glam rock direction that would later define their mainstream success. The show highlights Bolan's flamboyant stage presence and the chemistry with his collaborator Steve Peregrine Took, foreshadowing their pivotal role in the glam rock movement that exploded in the early 1970s.
