In March 1968, Cream was riding high on the success of their groundbreaking second album, "Disraeli Gears," which had been released just months prior. This live performance of "Sunshine of Your Love" at ABC-TV Studios showcases the band's electric chemistry and virtuosic musicianship, marking a pivotal moment in their career. Interestingly enough, this song became one of their most iconic tracks, blending blues and psychedelic rock in a way that few bands had dared to do at the time. By this point, Cream had already established themselves as one of the premier supergroups, with Eric Clapton on guitar, Jack Bruce on bass and vocals, and Ginger Baker on drums, each bringing their own unique flair to the music. As they mimed this performance for the TV show "Romp!!!", it highlighted not just their growing popularity, but also the explosion of creativity that was defining the late 1960s music scene.
