This live recording came shortly after the release of their groundbreaking album 'Pyromania,' which had peaked at number two on the Billboard 200. By this point in their career, Def Leppard was riding high on the commercial success of hits like 'Photograph' and 'Rock of Ages.' Interestingly, the band faced significant challenges during this era, most notably the tragic loss of drummer Rick Allen's arm in a car accident a few years later. Yet here, in Bordeaux, the band radiated energy and confidence, showcasing their signature blend of hard rock and melodic hooks, setting the stage for future successes both in live performances and studio releases.
