In August 2011, during their performance at the Illinois State Fairgrounds Grandstand, Loverboy played 'Working For The Weekend,' a classic hit that truly showcases their signature sound. By this time, the band was riding the wave of nostalgia, having released their latest album, 'Rock 'N' Roll Revival,' in 2012, which featured both new tracks and re-recordings of their beloved hits. What's fascinating is that Loverboy had initially burst onto the scene in the early 1980s, with their self-titled debut album containing smash hits like 'Turn Me Loose.' They had a dedicated fanbase that still resonated with their music, evidenced by the animated crowd in Springfield.
