The Black Crowes Live Performance of Thorn In My Pride at Forecastle Festival
In July 2009, The Black Crowes delivered an electrifying performance of "Thorn In My Pride" at the Waukesha County Exposition Center. By this point in their career, they were riding the wave of their reunion tour, having re-formed in 2005 after a few years of hiatus. This concert came just after the release of their 2008 album, "Warpaint," which was their first studio album in over seven years. "Warpaint" showcased their signature blend of Southern rock and blues, highlighting Chris Robinson's soulful voice, a hallmark of their sound. Interestingly, this live performance echoed the band's notorious, jam-heavy approach, which often transformed studio tracks into extended rock odysseys. Fans loved seeing them return to their roots during this period, emphasizing authenticity in their music after a long break.
