Interestingly, this live recording comes significantly later in their career, with the band forming in the early '70s and evolving through various styles over the decades. By 2021, the duo consisted of co-founders Donald Fagen and Walter Becker - although Becker passed away in 2017, Fagen has continued to keep the spirit of Steely Dan alive through live performances. Their music's intricate arrangements and clever lyrics remain timeless, resonating with both longtime fans and new listeners alike.
