Steely Dan

In June 2022, Steely Dan performed 'Kid Charlemagne' live in Tinley Park, Illinois, as part of their Earth After Hours Tour. At this point in their career, the band was riding high on a resurgence that began in the early 2000s, following their reunion in 1993. The album they released just before this tour was 'Everything Must Go' in 2003, which was their last studio album featuring fresh material. Interestingly, Steely Dan is renowned for their meticulous studio work, and by the time of this live recording, they had transformed their hits into lively performances that retained the band’s signature jazz-rock essence. Add to that the fact that this era marks a legacy of enduring fan appreciation, with each show being a tribute to their unique blend of catchy melodies and sophisticated lyrics.
