The Strokes

In January 2003, The Strokes were experiencing a pivotal moment in their career, following the release of their critically acclaimed debut album, "Is This It," which came out in July 2001. By the time of the live recording of "Reptilia" on Conan, the band had solidified their status as a defining force in the early 2000s rock revival, with their signature sound blending garage rock and post-punk revival elements. "Reptilia," one of their standout tracks, was actually included in their follow-up album, "First Impressions of Earth," which was released later in 2006. The band's appearance on television reflected their rising popularity, showcasing their energetic performance style and the distinctive vocal delivery of frontman Julian Casablancas. This period marked a significant transition as The Strokes began to experiment with their sound and establish themselves as enduring icons in the music landscape.
