Modest Mouse

In August 2010, when Modest Mouse performed 'Float On' at the HMV Picture House in Edinburgh for the Reading/Leeds festival, the band was riding high on the waves of their acclaimed album 'We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank,' released in 2007. This record solidified their unique sound and brought them into the mainstream, featuring hits like 'Dashboard' and 'Missed the Boat.' Interestingly, 'Float On,' one of their most iconic tracks, first appeared on their earlier album 'Good News for People Who Love Bad News' from 2004, but during this performance, it showcased the band's evolution over the years; the live energy was palpable. This gig also highlighted how the band had successfully navigated through various changes in lineup and sound, yet retained their quirky, introspective charm.
