Modest Mouse

On November 8, 2011, Modest Mouse delivered an electrifying performance at Stubb's Bar-B-Q in Austin, Texas. At this time, they had just released their album "Strangers to Ourselves" in 2015, but leading up to this live recording, they had been working on new material for quite a while. Interestingly, the band's previous album, "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank" (2007), had debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts, marking a significant peak in their career. During the Stubb's show, frontman Isaac Brock's storytelling—a hallmark of their style—was on full display, captivating the audience with tales that often seemed to wander yet always connected back to their layered musicality. This blend of raw energy and introspective lyrics made the live recording all the more memorable.
