In July 2012, Modest Mouse brought their signature blend of indie rock and intricate storytelling to life during their performance of 'Float On' at the Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Delaware. By this time, the band had recently released their fifth studio album, 'Strangers to Ourselves', which came out just a year prior in 2015. This album marked a notable return for the band after a lengthy hiatus, showcasing a matured sound while still capturing the whimsical essence fans loved. Fun fact: 'Float On', released in 2004 on the album 'Good News for People Who Love Bad News', is one of their biggest hits, and hearing it live at a festival adds a whole new level of energy and nostalgia for the audience.
