This performance came right after their 2007 album "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank," which showcased a blend of their signature indie rock sound with elements of alternative and even pop influences, marking a notable evolution in their style. By this time, the band was riding high on the success of their previous work, which featured their hit single "Float On." An interesting tidbit is that "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank" debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, further securing Modest Mouse's place in the indie music scene. This live gig at Bader Field was a fan favorite, capturing the band's energetic spirit and their ability to connect with audiences, reaffirming their status as a beloved staple in American rock.
