Modest Mouse

On April 18, 2018, Modest Mouse delivered a captivating performance of "King Rat" at Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, Alabama. This live recording came shortly after the release of their fifth studio album, "Strangers to Ourselves," which dropped in March 2015. The band was in a revitalized phase, having returned from a lengthy hiatus, and the energy of their live show reflected that. Interestingly, "King Rat" was first featured as a B-side on the band's 2007 single, "Float On," and has since become a fan favorite, showcasing their unique blend of indie rock with introspective lyrics and driving rhythms. The Sloss Furnaces, a historic site, added an ambiance that resonated beautifully with the band's eclectic sound, further enhancing the experience for both the band and the audience.
