In March 2012, Dark Star Orchestra was on a thrilling trajectory as a premier Grateful Dead tribute band. Just prior to this recording, they had released their album "Diary of a New Flesh" in 2010, which showcased their evolving sound and reverence for the original Dead's rich musical canvases. The performance recorded at Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale, featuring the epic sequence "Help On The Way~Slipknot~Franklin's Tower~Feel Like A Stranger," reflects their dynamic and heartfelt interpretation of classic Grateful Dead tunes, captivating fans with their expert musicianship and improvisational flair. It’s worth noting that DSO, known for recreating specific setlists from the Grateful Dead’s history, truly immersed the audience in a time capsule of the Dead’s live experience, making each show a unique celebration of the live concert spirit.
