The Lemonheads

On July 23, 1991, The Lemonheads performed at the Phoenician Club in Sydney, delivering a memorable live rendition of "Half the Time," a track from their album 'Lovey.' Released earlier that same year, 'Lovey' marked a pivotal moment for the band as they transitioned from their punk roots towards a more melodic, alternative sound. It included fan favorites and showcased lead singer Evan Dando’s evolving songwriting prowess. Interestingly, during this live performance, the band exuded a mix of raw energy and playful charm, capturing the essence of early '90s indie music. By this time, The Lemonheads were on the brink of greater mainstream success, with their next album 'It's a Shame About Ray' set to catapult them into a wider spotlight just a couple of years later.
