Sleater‐Kinney

In July 1997, Sleater-Kinney performed live at the Capitol Theater in Olympia, Washington, during the Yo Yo A GoGo festival, showcasing their raw energy and distinctive punk-rock sound. This performance came right on the heels of their third studio album, "Dig Me Out," which had been released a year earlier and was pivotal in elevating their status in the indie rock scene. "Dig Me Out" not only received critical acclaim but also included fan-favorites that would become staples in their live repertoire. During this period, the band was gaining momentum, marked by their fierce lyrics and feminist themes that resonated with audiences. Interestingly, Sleater-Kinney's ability to blend complexity with accessibility made them a driving force in the '90s riot grrrl movement, and this live performance perfectly captured that spirit.
