Violent Femmes

On August 8, 2019, Violent Femmes performed live at the Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre during their 'Hotel of Last Resort' tour, showcasing their signature blend of folk-punk energy. Leading up to this tour, the band had just released their self-titled debut album, which had taken off in the ’80s, but they were also riding the momentum of their latest project, 'Hotel of Last Resort,' released earlier in 2019. This album marked a significant return to form after a quieter period in their career. Notably, during the performance, bassist Brian Ritchie humorously introduced the 'bluegrass portion of the evening,' highlighting their eclectic influences and willingness to experiment. The band thrives on spontaneity, just as they did with their outspoken lyrics and energetic stage presence, keeping that iconic rawness alive after more than three decades.
