Guided by Voices

On July 6, 2016, Guided by Voices delighted fans at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale, Pennsylvania, evidencing their ongoing vitality in the indie rock scene. Just prior to this live performance, the band released 'Please Be Honest' in 2014, a deeply personal album. Interestingly, this marked a significant point in their career as it was their first album featuring Robert Pollard's solo songwriting. This phase reflected a mature yet experimental direction, breathing fresh life into their already diverse catalog. The live performance not only captured the band's signature lo-fi sound and energetic charm but also showcased their ability to connect with audiences in a very intimate venue, emphasizing that Guided by Voices, despite their long history, still plays with the same infectious passion as they did in their early days.
