Guided by Voices

During the live recording of "Motor Away" at the Hopscotch Music Festival in Raleigh on September 9, 2011, Guided by Voices was riding high on a wave of renewed energy following their reformation in 2010. Before this performance, they had released the album "Let’s Go Eat the Factory" in January 2012, their first studio album in nearly a decade. The buzz surrounding the band was palpable, as this show was part of a significant comeback that reignited fans' passion for their lo-fi sound and prolific songwriting. Interestingly, this particular performance came shortly before the band announced it would disband that same year. It was a bittersweet moment, as fans gathered to witness the final show, filled with nostalgia while celebrating the unique blend of catchy melodies and quirky lyrics that characterized Guided by Voices.
