Black Sabbath

In the early '90s, Black Sabbath was experiencing a significant revival, particularly on the heels of their 1994 album 'Cross Purposes.' Released shortly before this live recording, the album marked a moment of resurgence for the band, showcasing a lineup that included original members Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler, alongside vocalist Tony Martin. Fans were thrilled to see the band returning to form with heavy riffs and darker themes, very much in line with their classic sound. This live performance of 'Cross of Thorns,' recorded on November 30, 1993, captures the electric atmosphere of their concerts as they embraced a mix of old favorites and new material. Interestingly, this period also reflected a transitional phase for the band, as they explored different musical directions while still staying true to their roots in heavy metal.
