Pixies

In October 1988, when the Pixies performed the live recording at Hilversum Studios for the VPRO 'Fa. Onrust' show, they were riding high on the success of their debut album, *Come On Pilgrim*, which had been released earlier that year. This EP introduced their unique blend of punk rock and alternative sounds, establishing them as a key player in the burgeoning indie rock scene. The band's follow-up album, *Surfer Rosa*, was also in the pipeline, set to release in early 1989, which would further cement their legacy with tracks like "Where Is My Mind." Notably, the performance at Hilversum showcased their dynamic stage presence and raw energy, evident in songs like "River Euphrates," which contributed to their reputation for intense live shows.
