Atlas Sound

On May 2, 2012, Atlas Sound, the solo project of Bradford Cox from Deerhunter, performed at the Team Gallery for Ryan McGinley's opening, just before a police shutdown. This live performance came shortly after the release of his album "Parallax" in late 2011, which showcased a maturation in Cox's sound, blending ambient noise with introspective lyrics. Interestingly, this period marked a significant evolution for Atlas Sound, as Cox experimented with more diverse textures and personal themes following earlier works. The juxtaposition of the vibrant gallery setting and the eventual interruption by police adds a layer of drama to the performance, encapsulating the unpredictable nature of live music experiences.
