Japandroids

By June 2017, Japandroids were riding high on the success of their second studio album, "Celebration Rock," which was released in 2012, and their follow-up, "Near to the Wild Heart of Life," which had just come out earlier that year. This live recording at Primavera Sound in Porto captures the duo’s energetic punk-infused sound that fans have come to adore. It's particularly interesting that they were returning to the live scene after a four-year hiatus, during which they took the time to hone their craft and explore new musical directions. The setlist included fan favorites like "Younger Us" and "The Nights of Wine and Roses," showcasing their knack for creating anthems that resonate with both the carefree spirit of youth and the complexity of adulthood. The dynamic atmosphere of Parque da Cidade must have been electric, amplifying their already thunderous sound.
