Circles Around the Sun

In March 2022, Circles Around the Sun gave an electrifying live performance at the Rio Theatre in Santa Cruz, CA, showcasing their unique blend of psychedelic rock and improvisational soundscapes. This gig came just a few months after the release of their third studio album, 'Continuing', which dropped in October 2020. Notably, this album marked a new chapter for the band, as it was their first without founding member and key songwriter, Neal Casal, who passed away in 2019. The absence of Casal's influence had fans curious about the band's new direction, but 'Continuing' proved they could still deliver compelling music that honors their roots while exploring fresh sonic territories. This live recording captures the band's evolution and highlights their ability to connect with audiences in a lively, spontaneous setting, hinting at how they’ve grown while still paying tribute to their rich musical heritage.
