Umphrey’s McGee

On May 25, 2024, Umphrey's McGee performed at Solshine Reverie in Chillicothe, IL, marking a significant moment in their ongoing evolution as a live band. By this date, the band was deep into their career, having solidified their reputation for innovative live performances and intricate compositions. Prior to this recording, they had released "You Walked Up Shaking in Your Boots but You Moved Still," which came out in 2022. This album demonstrated their growth, blending styles and showcasing their improvisational prowess. Notably, the set included a performance of “Der Bluten Kat,” a fan-favorite that embodies their playful yet complex musical style. The live rendition also featured a jam with Four, a nod to fellow jam band moe., as well as quotes from James Brown's "Think (About It)," highlighting Umphrey's McGee’s penchant for collaboration and homage within the improvisational format of their live shows.
