On July 21, 2019, Metallica performed at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, a significant moment in their extensive touring career. Leading up to this live recording, the band had recently released their album "Hardwired... to Self-Destruct" in November 2016, marking their first studio release in over eight years. This album received critical acclaim and was supported by a massive world tour, known as the "WorldWired Tour," which included dates in Europe, North America, and beyond. The concert in Moscow showcased their enduring popularity and ability to draw large crowds, as the Luzhniki Stadium has a capacity of around 78,000. Additionally, the performance of "Sad But True" highlights their continued relevance, as the song originally featured on their 1991 self-titled album (commonly referred to as "The Black Album") remains a fan favorite and a staple of their live shows.
