The Allman Brothers Band

In March 2009, The Allman Brothers Band graced the stage at the Beacon Theatre in New York City, teaming up with guitar legend Eric Clapton for a stunning rendition of "Little Wing." At this point in their career, the band had just celebrated their 40th anniversary and was riding a wave of renewed popularity, thanks in part to their impressive live performances and the undeniable chemistry among band members, including the talented Derek Trucks. Their most recent studio album before this recording was *Hittin' the Note*, released in 2003. The band had previously explored a few different musical directions, but this partnership with Clapton showcased their signature Southern rock sound blended beautifully with Clapton's blues-infused style. It's special moments like these that not only highlight their legacy but also remind us why they're so revered in rock history. Who doesn’t get goosebumps listening to that blend of guitars?
