In August 2016, Yes was riding the wave of their extensive career during a celebrated performance at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. Just prior to this electric show, the band had released their album "Heaven & Earth" in 2014, marking a significant step in their journey as it was their first record without founding member and legendary keyboardist Rick Wakeman. The live recording features "Revealing Science of God," the opening track from their ambitious 1974 double album "Tales From Topographic Oceans," showcasing the band's preference for exploring sprawling compositions and deep musical textures. It’s worth noting that during this tour, drummer Alan White was recovering from back surgery, which led to Jay Schellen stepping in to support the performance. This combination of seasoned talent and dedication to their complex, progressive roots highlights Yes’s enduring commitment to their craft, even as they navigate the challenges of time.
