Widespread Panic

Back in October 2001, right around the time of that live recording at Kiefer UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, Widespread Panic was truly in their element. Prior to this gig, they released the album *Don't Tell the Band* in 2000, which was a studio effort capturing their unique blend of rock, jazz, and blues-infused sounds. This period marked a significant evolution in their music, as the band was diving deeper into improvisation and live performance. What’s particularly interesting about this live show is that Widespread Panic was already renowned for their electrifying live sets that could stretch well over three hours. In fact, the fans tuned into the live stream could feel that raw energy pulsing through the venue. The camaraderie and connection among band members and their audience was palpable, typical of Panic's performances. This was a time when they were building a legacy that would resonate well beyond their immediate fanbase, solidifying their status as titans of the jam band scene.
