Widespread Panic

In April 2002, when Widespread Panic performed "Driving Song" and "Breathing Slow" at the Oak Mountain Amphitheatre in Pelham, Alabama, they were riding a wave of momentum from their 2000 album *'Til the Medicine Takes*. This release had shown their growth, blending Southern rock with jam band improvisation—a hallmark of their live shows. The year before, they also released *Live in the Classic City*, which captured the raw energy of their performances. Interestingly, this performance came just as the band was solidifying their reputation as one of the top purveyors of live music experiences, often praised for their electric shows filled with spontaneous jamming.
