Widespread Panic

In October 1996, when Widespread Panic graced the stage at Bayfest in Mobile, Alabama, they were riding high on the waves of their seventh studio album, *Bombs & Butterflies*, which had been released earlier that same year. This album was a significant milestone for the band as it marked their first major-label release, under Capricorn Records—a move that certainly generated some buzz in the jam band scene. The energy captured in the live performance of "Wondering" reflects the band's growing reputation for impressive live shows, characterized by their seamless improvisation and tight musicianship.
