Widespread Panic

Widespread Panic had just recently released their album "Everyday," which came out in 1997, not too long before their live recording of "Walkin' (For Your Love)" on November 30 of that same year in Northampton. This album marked a significant moment for the band, showcasing their growth and experimentation with new sounds while still retaining that signature Southern rock vibe. They were riding high on a wave of popularity, having cultivated a dedicated fan base through their extensive touring, and live performances were a key part of their identity. Interestingly, "Walkin'" became a beloved staple in their setlist, often highlighting their improv-heavy style. The 1997 Northampton show is remembered as a particularly energetic performance, embodying the spirit of community and connection that Widespread Panic fans cherish so deeply. The recording later relived those magical moments with the release of "Northampton 1998 (Live)" in 2018, bringing the nostalgia full circle for fans old and new.
