Mac DeMarco

During the Sweetlife Festival on May 14, 2016, Mac DeMarco delivered a lively performance of "Freaking Out the Neighborhood" at the Merriweather Post Pavilion. At this point in his career, he had just released his highly acclaimed album "Another One" in August 2015, which showcased his signature slacker rock style infused with a lo-fi charm. This album, featuring tracks like "The Way You Wound Up" and "Just to Put Me Down," further solidified his reputation as a thoughtful yet playful artist. Interestingly, by 2016, DeMarco had started to attract a cult following partly due to his quirky persona and relatable lyrics about love and life. His live performances were often peppered with spontaneous banter and a laid-back vibe, traits evident in this festival show. Fans still recall the carefree energy of that day, as he effortlessly connected with the crowd in true DeMarco style.
