That year alone, he unleashed four new albums: *Boulez Conducts Zappa: The Perfect Stranger,* *Them Or Us,* *Francesco Zappa,* and the ambitious four-record set, *Thing-Fish.* Each of these works showcased Zappa’s unique ability to blend complex musical ideas with humor and social commentary, making his live performances as rich and unpredictable as his studio creations. Interestingly, 1984 also marked Zappa's continuous exploration of the avant-garde, with *Boulez Conducts Zappa* presenting his music through the lens of classical conductors, thus bridging genres and challenging norms.
