The live recording captures a rare moment, as this cover of Smog's "Chosen One" is one of only four known live performances of the track. Interestingly, during this time, the Lips were honing their live show, which would soon become famous for its psychedelic visuals and unique theatricality. They were also exploring new sonic landscapes that would eventually culminate in the critically acclaimed "The Soft Bulletin" just a few years later.
