Metallica Live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - Full Concert at Rock in Rio Festival
Back in September 2011, Metallica graced the stage at the Cidade do Rock during the famed Rock in Rio festival, showcasing a blend of their hard-hitting sound and electrifying stage presence. This performance was part of their "World Magnetic" tour, which followed the release of their critically acclaimed album, "Death Magnetic," from 2008. "Death Magnetic" marked a significant return to their thrash metal roots, earning them accolades and rejuvenating their classic sound for a new generation. Interestingly, this live gig came at a time when Metallica was still riding high on the 20th anniversary of their legendary self-titled album—often referred to as "The Black Album"—which included iconic tracks like "Enter Sandman." Playing alongside acts like Slipknot and Motörhead, Metallica delivered a raw, powerful set that resonated deeply with the festival's audience, reinforcing their legacy as one of rock's most enduring powerhouses.
