On July 6, 2019, Metallica took the stage at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany, delivering a powerful performance of "Sad But True." This was during their "WorldWired Tour," which followed the release of their critically acclaimed album, "Hardwired... to Self-Destruct," from 2016. Notably, this record marked the band's first new material in eight years and showcased their ability to evolve while staying true to their heavy metal roots. With "Sad But True," a fan-favorite from the 1991 self-titled album often referred to as "The Black Album," the band resonated with a massive crowd, reminding everyone of their legacy and influence on the genre. It’s interesting to note that the Olympiastadion has a rich history, having hosted both the 1936 Olympics and modern-day mega-events, adding an extra layer of significance to Metallica’s electrifying performance there.
